I was watching the travel channel as I was packing earlier this afternoon and I saw this thing about the "Icarus cup". It is an annual event for para-gliders. They create wild costumes and para-glide in them. Here is a site with some cool pictures of the most recent event.
While searching around for the above site I found this site. You can search this site by location or date and find a long list of festivals and other events. It is a good way to find something a little "different" to do. There is also a section of this site that lists the one hundred things you should do before you die. Overall a very cool site. I'll leave you with this event.
