I read a book called Chaos a few years ago. It discussed the underlying order in chaotic systems and how a system that is sensitive to its initial conditions will turn chaotic, often very quickly. I don't remember too much of it but I do remember that it was fascinating. That book is the first place I had ever heard of fractals and the Mandelbrott Set. I just searched Mandelbrott thru google and I got this page. At the bottom there is a download for a program to create your own fractal art. Well, the link to the download site wasn't working correctly. I'm going to try to find the program somewhere else later.
After following a link on the above page I found this five part intro course in Chaos Theory. I just breezed through the first part. Very nice and easy. A good beginning.

I've been spending some time trying to learn how to do things to my web page. I've never had a page before and I don't know any html, yet. So, if this page ever does anything screwy, it's probably because I'm messing around.

It's been a couple of days since I last "Blogged". I am very busy getting ready to move into the new house.
I heard a story on NPR's "All Things Considered" yesterday about about an undersea animal that has small perfectly made lenses in its body. I figured I'd look it up and see what i could find. Here's a nice picture of the animal. Here is a news release dated today. Pretty cool. The person interviewed said that these lenses are better than any that we can currently create. She said that this discovery could have big implications for industry if these lenses can be reproduced in the lab.

I've been getting ready to move so all of my time is going into packing and other last minute stuff. I close on the house on July 29. I can't wait to get in there. Of course, then I'll be really busy.
My CD burning program is being very annoying today. I put a 700mb (80 min) blank in the burner and the software says there is only a 650mb (74 min) disc in there. The CD I want to burn (DMB-unreleased stuff) is 75+ minutes long. Pain in the arse!
